Transparency and limitations

Verification and standards

Our framework is a private review and guidance process. It can help structure a school–provider conversation, but it does not replace a school’s own due diligence, approval process or legal responsibilities.

What the framework is designed to do

The framework helps make a provider’s school-facing information more visible and easier to discuss. A review may consider evidence supplied by a provider, its stated processes and the clarity of its communications. It is not a public accreditation by a regulator, government body or external awarding organisation.

Evidence-led conversation

We encourage clear documentation, named responsibilities and questions schools can take forward.

Not a substitute for due diligence

Schools remain responsible for making proportionate checks, approvals and decisions for their own visit.

Review areas

The review areas below explain the topics a provider may be asked to address. They are not a claim that every item has been assessed for every organisation or every trip.

Governance and accountability

How the organisation describes decision-making, roles, escalation and operational oversight.

Safeguarding and welfare context

Whether the information supplied addresses relevant safeguarding arrangements and clear responsibilities.

Risk and operational information

How risk, incident, insurance and delivery information is presented for school consideration.

Documentation and communication

The availability and clarity of core documents, policies, contact arrangements and programme information.

School-facing readiness

Whether the provider’s information is structured in a way that supports an informed conversation with a school.

Status, renewal and concerns

Review status

Any status should be read with its scope, date and stated limitations. A listing does not confirm suitability for every school or itinerary.

Renewal and change

Information can change. Providers should communicate material changes and schools should request current trip-specific evidence when needed.
